Who is Barry Wosk?

Barry Wosk is a lifelong Richmond resident who calls the Steveston area home.

Raised in Westwind, he is a proud Steveston High School graduate – GO PACKERS! His mother still lives in his childhood home after more than 50 years and his roots in the community continue today, living and working in the riding with his wife and two teenage children.

A graduate of the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, Barry has spent more than three decades building and operating a successful Richmond-based small business. As an entrepreneur, he has developed expertise in strategic planning, finance, sales, marketing, operations, and manufacturing. He has also provided consulting for foreign organizations looking to grow their footprint in Canada.

Barry's commitment to community is clear in his volunteer efforts with the Steveston High School Alumni Association, Big Brothers, and RCM-SAR. Most recently, he served as a Director of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, where he worked alongside local business and community leaders to support economic growth and strengthen Richmond's future.

Having travelled extensively throughout Canada, the United States, and internationally, Barry has gained a broad appreciation for different perspectives, cultures, and communities. Those experiences have reinforced his belief that Richmond is the best place in the world to live, work, and to raise a family. He values the city’s diversity, natural beauty, enterprising spirit, and unique role as Canada's gateway to the Pacific.

Barry is seeking public office because he believes British Columbians deserve better governance that focuses on results rather than division. He believes government should be financially responsible, socially inclusive, and environmentally sustainable. He is committed to strengthening the economy, improving access to healthcare, building safer communities, addressing housing affordability, and working collaboratively with local governments to deliver better outcomes for residents and is committed to building a stronger future for Richmond and British Columbia.
